Tinchy Stryder [real name Kwasi Danquah born 1987], is a grime artist of Ghanaian origin from Bow, East London. As well
as being one of the genre's representative solo artists, referred to by Rewind Magazine as the "Prince of Grime", he is
a member of the group Ruff Sqwad. Stryder has always been known as a talented artist, and displayed his talents across
many pirate radio stations in his early teens. He became prominent in the underground scene after constantly going on
radio and performing live shows with Wiley and Dizzee Rascal, who were prominent figures in grime at the time. This,
along with Stryder's fierce delivery and complicated flow, gave him his early limelight. Stryder came to prominence
first in 2003, winning 'best newcomer' at the Sidewinder awards. Since then he has been working hard and has
collaborated with many major artists in the grime genre, including two remixes with The Streets, 'Fit But You Know It'
and 'Prangin Out'.



His new single 'Take Me Back' featuring Taio Cruz was released on January 19th 2009 and was a major hit following
numerous plays on BBC Radio 1, Kiss FM and many other TV and radio stations. On January 18th 2009 the song entered the
official UK Singles Charts at 39 on downloads alone, one day before it's official release. The following week the single
moved 36 places up to No.3, Stryder's highest position of his career so far in the singles charts. It has also topped
the RnB singles chart at No.1. The video for the song was filmed in b/w.
